The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences held its 54th Annual New York Emmy Awards Gala on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square in New York City.In attendance were over 850 of the top professionals representing all facets of media, including familiar faces from news, entertainment, sports, production, and advertising.
Ernie Anastos, Anchor of WNYW FOX 5’s Fox 5 News at 10:00pm, received a special Emmy for Lifetime Achievement known as the prestigious Governors’ Award for his outstanding contributions to television. Joan Lunden, Emmy Award-winning journalist and the longest-running host of early morning television, presented the special Emmy Award.
Some of the scheduled presenters and speakers, from the worlds of news, entertainment and sports included: Actor Abe Vigoda; NY NATAS Executive Director Jacqueline Gonzalez; NBC Universal Host Shelly Palmer;Teala Dunn and Coy Stewart from the cast of Are We There Yet; Actor Colleen Zenk; Essence Atkins; CBS2 News Anchor Kristine Johnson; YES Network Host Michael Kay; N.J. Burkett andSarah Wallace from Eyewitness News WABC; Marvin Scott and Jodi Applegate from PIX11 News; and Bruce Beck, Cat Greenleaf, Tom Llamas, Andrew Siff from WNBC and NY NonStop.
