The NYC Rockin’ the River Cruises kicks off this Thursday with a New Orleans party with The Malone Brothersfeaturing the leaders of The Radiators (Dave Malone) and The Subdudes (Tommy Malone). Big Shot: Tribute To Billy Joel plays the cruise this Friday. Next week the The Amish Outlaws play on Friday (7/27). We just announced Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers, on August 15th. Each RTR Cruise is a 2 hour concert cruise that sails past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge. We depart from The Circle Line at Pier 83, West 42nd Street at 12th Avenue in NYC. His long-awaited opera Prima Donna opened at BAM in New York City on February 19th and his new album Out of the Game was released on May 8. The new record was a labor of love for both Wainwright and producer Mark Ronson, Rufus calls his new album, “the most pop album I’ve ever made,” while Ronson stated, “it’s the best work of my career.” Adam Cohen (son of Leonard) opens the show.
Tommy Malone of the Subdudes

Both men have spent most of their adult lives in legendary bands, but when Dave’s band “The Radiators” called it quits in June of 2011 and Tommy’s band “The Subdudes” decided to go on hiatus, the stage was set for the long awaited Malone Brothers band.

Donna the Buffalo’s feel-good, groove-oriented, danceable and often socially conscious music all began over twenty years ago with roots in old time fiddle music that evolved into a soulful electric Americana mix infused with elements of cajun/ zydeco, rock, folk, reggae, and country. Lead singer Joseph Russo, is also a veteran of the Broadway stage, and has performed in several Broadway tours throughout the world. Lead singer (Bono) is Tony Russo, brother of the lead singer of Almost Queen, Joseph Russo.
