BACKGROUND:
Over 170 nationally known chefs are teaming up to serve and promote Louisiana Seafood on December 1.
Dine America: Americas Night Out for Gulf Seafood, taking place in restaurants and cities across the country on December 1, 2010, looks to communicate that Louisiana Seafood remains untainted by the April 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
While harvesting in some areas was temporarily put on hold to ensure the safety of seafood, rigorous testing by multiple agencies continues to show that Gulf products are wholesome and untainted. Gulf seafood is the most tested seafood in the world today.
Kelly Schulz of The New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau is available to discuss Dine America: Americas Night Out for Gulf Seafood and the reality of the Louisiana Seafood industry.
The special “night out” is also meant to honor the thousands of Americans and their families in the Gulf seafood industry who are now back to work, fishing the Gulf waters for the most succulent catches.
