Event: ECOFEST Date: September 28, 2008 Place: Lincoln Center Plaza TIME: 11am to 6pm ECOFEST ’08 celebrates its Twentieth Anniversary Sunday, September 28 at the Lincoln Center Plaza, Damrosch Park, Manhattan from 11am to 6:00pm. ECOFEST is dedicated to educating the public about practical solutions, products and practices by presenting exciting exhibits, environmental groups, inventions of environmental technologies, entertainment, and the interesting and informative ECOFEST Environmental Conference with leaders in the field! There is something for everyone in the family: The SEOTO (Sources of Energy Other Than Oil) Display with the latest vehicles that use Clean Technology. The display includes hot solar racers, hybrids, electric, methanol, ethanol and “veggie cars” that run on grease, as well as New York City and the latest fuel cell vehicles including Hybrid taxi. Pedi cabs, bicycles and rollerblade performances are also scheduled. The Newburgh Academy Solar Racing Team who built their car can be interviewed as well as OEM reps. Pet Care and Adoption NYC ASPCA will be present with their adoption van, with adorable animals that need homes, and pet care tips for pet owners and info on urban animal issues. If you’re thinking about a pet, this is the place. We can set up interviews with ASPCA rep with available animals, tips on apt. pet care, organic petfoods, and more. ECO-Fashion Show A highlight of ECOFEST, presenting fashions of all eco friendly materials that are available on the market now. We show ecofriendly clothing from outdoor activities to urban fashion, office to bathing suits to evening wear and wedding gowns. We can set up a great eco-fashion preview in studio. These eco fashions are hot!! Fashion author Starre Vartan will be moderating and is available for segment. The World solar stage rocks all day! Great talents Al Smith of Blacksmith, Sounds of Guyana, great NY TAP-IN for clean water- A regular feature of ECOFEST, the Tap-In presents the best tap-dancers of New York with the George Gee Orchestra with guest artist Vicki Natale, CBS Star Search Competition winner! Legendary performers Harold Cromer and Mabel Lee will host the NY Tap-In, the show which presents hot new stars like Traci Manns Young Hoofers, Andrew Nemr’s CPDs group with a new touch of modern dance and Al Smith hip-hop that gets everybody rocking and much more! The exciting New Generation dance company from Argentina will New Generation expand the international flavor of Ecofest with explosive tango routines! Environmetal Conference Panel discussions with noted environmental experts with Q&A. This year’s panels will be on Green Living, Green Building, Getting Rid of Foreign Oil: The Future of Solar and Renewable Energy, Green Investing, NY Times writer, author Andy Revkin will talk about Global Warming Moderated by Mark Farrell of RXP its sure to fill up! Andy Revkin ECOFEST 2008 is presenting a special Health and Fitness Area where the public will be able to experience new alternatives in preserving our health that is effective, user friendly and fun.
