Global Peace Festival USA

We are pleased to invite you to join us for the first historic interfaith festival of its kind at our nations Capitol. Come out for the Global Peace Festival (GPF) held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC , beginning at 4:00 pm. Buses leave NY at 7AM at 34 & 8th Ave, 112 St & 5th Ave, and 125th St and 7 Ave. Cost is $50 and includes a snack. Buses leave DC at 7:30PM. If you are interested, call Bruce Groder at 914-584-9341 to reserve a seat. So far, we have 15 buses leaving NY. ? Recent Global Peace Festivals were held in December 2007, in Manila, Philip Pines with more than 200,000 participating and on July 5, 2008 in Asuncion, Paraguay with overflow capacity in the Olimpia Stadium. There will be 15 GPFs in 2008 in major nations around the world, and soon we expect the GPF celebrations to multiply to include every nation of the world. ? As you know, Americans are focused on an important debate on leadership and change as we look to the upcoming presidential elections. Thus it is timely and significant that the GPF-USA is bringing together leaders from diverse faith traditions, service organizations, etc. to bring a message of reconciliation, hope and peace. From our nations Capital, with this call to America, founding principles will reverberate throughout the land. One Family Under God is GPFs credo. Through GPF the global family is finding its identity and voice. As Ambassadors for Peace we uphold that intercultural and inter-religious harmony is possible, because we all share a common essence endowed from the same God. Through forming consensus around those values common to the worlds faith and traditions, peace is possible. ? On August 9th you will experience a Global Family reunion of the likes that you have never seen; international atmosphere of cultural entertainment and representation, expressions of the worlds faith traditions, inspiring peace messages from Dr. Hyun Jin Moon and many other national and international level religious and diplomatic representatives, great music- featuring Grammy-winning gospel superstar, Yolanda Adams, and many more celebrities. ?
