The Grand Central Oyster Bar kicked off its 33rd annual Holland Herring Festival on Wednesday, June 19. Ingber is teaming with James Beard Award-winning author Finamore on The Grand Central Oyster Bar Cookbook. The book will be published in Fall, 2013, to coincide with the restaurant’s 100th anniversary. .
The book includes 100 classic recipes—including Oysters Rockefeller (featured by Scott Conant on the Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate) and the Oyster Pan Roast (which Adam Platt called “the greatest New York restaurant dish of all time”). Packed with bits of history and capsule portraits of many longtime employees, the book also showcases some of the restaurant’s signature events.
