On behalf of The Blue Card, which serves Holocaust survivors in the United States, the organization mourns the passing of Holocaust survivor and Nobel Laureate, Professor Elie Wiesel. To speak for the organization is Masha Pearl, the Executive Director who worked closely with Mr. Wiesel for several of The Blue Card initiatives.
Statement from Masha Pearl, Executive Director of the Blue Card, on Elie Wiesel:
“Mr. Wiesel made an incredible impact on our world in his fight for freedom, justice and the memory of the Holocaust and its victims. May his words guide us all for generations to come. He continues to be an inspiration to us and we will carry on his work for Holocaust survivors knowing the difference he made for The Blue Card, Holocaust education and support.”
In addition to working with Elie, The Blue Card also presented the Richard C. Holbrooke Award for Social Justice to Professor Wiesel on November 16, 2015 at the New York Public Library.
Masha is available to speak about the instrumental role Elie Wiesel played with The Blue Card, how he helped identify Holocaust survivors who needed assistance and to elaborate on the good work they accomplished together.
