Trui Moerkerke is a Belgian journalist who moved to the US in 2016. She is based in the Detroit area (Michigan) and she now works as a freelance correspondent for Belgian magazines and weekend supplements of newspapers. Before moving to the US Trui worked for more than 20 years at Belgium’s leading lifestyle weekly Knack Weekend, as a journalist and later editor in chief. She was also the inaugural editor of “Nest”, a country living monthly.

Jason Calderon is the News Director and chief U.S. correspondent of the international news channel NTN24. He is also the anchor for El Informativo´s prime-time newscast. Based in Washington D.C., Jason has been a political journalist, reporting the daily news of the White House, U.S. Congress, and State Department.
Russia expelled Dutch correspondent Tom Vennink
Tom Vennink, the correspondent for Dutch daily de Volkskrant based in Moscow, was informed by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs on November 1 that both his residence permit and visa would be revoked, citing “administrative violations.”

Within a week, two Mexican journalists were killed
Mexico is the country with the highest journalist death rate in the Western hemisphere. At least three journalists in Mexico have been killed in direct connection with their work this year.
