Sunday, June 28th 2009 Tribute to Carl Schwartz Featuring: Pete Seeger and others Mr. Seeger, the folk music legend, founded the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, essential to the clean-up of the Hudson River, and environmental consciousness. The Sloop Clearwater is an enjoyable and educational sailboat, reaching out and being used by school children state-wide. Noon 12AM At the Frying Pan 26th St. by the Hudson River (Pier66) New York City Friends of Clearwater, the local sloop club of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater is organizing this event as part of the celebration of 400th anniversary Henry Hudson the explorer sailing up the Hudson River. This water festival celebrates the essential nature of water to human life, and the improved natures in some locales which must be vigilantly guarded and re-invigorated. Such water consciousness also realizes the eroding of water conditions in many parts of the world such as China and India. The festival will include education about the Worldwide Water Crises and about the conditions in the Hudson River. Networking among water activists will be encouraged at the festival. http://www.nycfriendsofclearwater.org www.nycfriendsofclearwater.org
