A county fair means different things to different people. To some, its the thrill of being stopped at the
top of the ferris wheel, and to others its those pronto pups and fair food that only appear in the summer.
For a group of nonprofit organizations that serve Dakota County, the fair was an opportunity to tell their
story to fair-goers and a chance to offer a hands-on volunteer experience to fill birthday bags for
Cheerful Givers.
Sunday, August 16 was the second annual Honoring Volunteers Day at the Dakota County Fair, and
participating organizations, such as ours, had an opportunity to honor volunteers with treats and prize
drawings. A bonus to this years event was the great music provided by Del Barber.{enclose cheerful_givers.mp4}
