Jim Morelli’s television career began on The Oprah Winfrey Show when he was invited on to discuss his new book, Poison: How To Handle The Hazardous Substances In Your Home. Morelli, who had been working as a print reporter, liked the medium so much he decided to switch to broadcast news. He has worked as a network reporter, anchor and Top 10 market reporter. He is a general assignment reporter in Boston and serves as a spokesperson for various PR presentations. Prior to moving north, Morelli worked as a reporter for WGCL, the breaking news-driven CBS affiliate in Atlanta.
Morelli is a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia, and has worked in many pharmaceutical settings, from retail stores, to hospitals, to a drug company. He has served as a poison information specialist at Children’s Hospital in Boston and at the Georgia Poison Control Center. He has also worked as a medical editor for the trade newsletter, Drug Utilization Review, and as a writer for WebMD and as a freelance contributor to Drug Topics and US Pharmacist.
Morelli graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston with a B.S. in pharmacy. He also holds a Master’s degree from Tufts University, Medford, Mass., in Civil Engineering.
