THIS 4TH OF JULY: You’re cordially invited to join us for a very special picnic on Bannerman Island. Our boat the Estuary Steward will depart Torches Dock at the Newburgh Waterfront Thurs July 4th at 12 noon sharp.
Special Guest– Eleanor Seeland, who lived on Bannerman Island when she was 12 years old with her parents Wayne and Marion Owen (assistant superintendents), will share her stories of growing up on the Island.
Entertainment provided by- We will be joined by live performance by the band Timberwolf
Picnic provided by– a great picnic feast will be created by Loughran’s Irish Pub of Salisbury Mills.
Our Bannerman Island historians will be on hand as you take a self- guided tour around the island. The day includes the cruise to the island on The Bannerman Castle Trust’s new vessel, The Estuary Steward.
The Bannerman Castle Trust is just completing a public bid to stabilize The Tower at the Main Castle on Bannerman Island. Work is scheduled to be started sometime this summer. The funds for this phase of the stabilization were raised from an EPF challenge grant. We are excited that this phase will be complete and will start raising funds for Phase 2, stabilization of the # 3 structure. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. offers guided tours of Bannerman Island on Saturdays and Sundays, May through October. The Estuary Steward departs from Torches Dock in Newburgh, New York, at 11:00 am, and from The Beacon Waterfront at 12:30 pm. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for children under 11.
Tickets for The 4th of July Picnic Bash are $75 general admission, $65 for BCT members. Groups of 10 or more are $60. The Estuary Steward will depart Torches Dock at Newburgh Waterfront at 12 noon sharp. The boat will return at 3:30 pm. There is limited seating so we recommend that you make reservations in advance.
