The House of Hospitality will serve women of all denominations throughout the state who are being released from prison. The goal will be to provide a safe and loving environment where they can learn how to become productive members of society. There will also be a Bridges of Peace Help a Child Through a Soldier drive taking place at the concert. Bridges of Peace will be collecting stuffed toys and other items that will be sent to Iraq. They will be distributed to Iraqi children by our US Service men and women, helping to build a Bridge of Peace between our armed forces and the children of Iraq. “Our goal is for this project to grow nationwide. It started here in Sayreville in 2004 and still continues. We hope that more people will volunteer to help the children through our soldiers, says Sgt. Robert Bruce stationed in Diyala Province, Iraq. Sgt. Bruce is a Sayreville police officer and a Bridges of Peace Board of Director currently in Iraq since January of this year within the Civil Affairs Company. He has asked Bridges of Peace to send his company items through the “Help a Child through a Soldier” Drive. From the lyrics of Toys for Peace, a song written for this project by Pete Seeger and Ray Korona: When you make a child smile, you build a bridge to PeaceĶ “That is our goal, but we’d like to add make the children and the soldiers smile! “This is a Humanitarian effort. We ask our nations families to help build bridges of peace, says Sgt. Bruce. Bridges of Peace is a 501(C) 3 Nonprofit Charity Organization. EIN/tax ID number: 20-055-2821.
