Tomorrow at 12:00 PM, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will host pet adoption organizations and advocacy groups, along with a number of dogs, on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall to announce an effort to advance adoption of shelter pets in the borough and across the city. He will unveil a legislative push to incentivize New Yorkers to adopt pets from animal shelters or humane societies, as well as promote his Adopt-A-Pet Day this Saturday on Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza, taking place from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM, where shelter pets will be present and ready for adoption.
This announcement is being made during National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, celebrated throughout October.
Groups in attendance tomorrow, which are also taking part in Saturday’s event, will include the ASPCA, Brooklyn Bark, Mayor’s Alliance for NYC Animals, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Urban Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitation, and Veterinary Referral Emergency Group Animal Hospital.
