Hurricane Season 2009: Are You Ready?
You cant afford not to be!!!
GUEST: Home Improvement Expert and TV Personality, Brad Staggs
Hurricane season 2009 is fast approaching. The third week of May is National Hurricane Preparedness Week. With the state of the economy, no one can afford not to be prepared. It will most likely be more costly to clean up the damage than to ensure as little damage as possible. Preparedness is especially important for homeowners on the Atlantic coast or Gulf coast states from Louisiana to Alabama which forecasters predict will see a 70% chance of a tropical storm or hurricane.
The Weather Research Center (non-profit) is predicting at least 7 named storms with 4 of these tropical storms intensifying into hurricanes.
Home Improvement Expert/TV Personality Brad Staggs helps your viewers with a checklist of tips and information on new technology that will help them get ready for any size or type of storm no matter where they live. Examples include
*preventing injury from flying glass,
*food safety, and
*preparing a disaster kit.
Brad will show among other things:
>Simonton StormBreaker Plus Windows and Patio Doors. These windows and doors are designed w/one pane of tempered glass and one pane of impact-resistant laminated glass all of which enables them to stand up to fierce weather conditions and flying object fractures. They also offer superior energy efficiency!
>DeVinci Synthetic Roofing. Designed to resist straight line winds at 110 mph. These tiles are made to withstand most anything Mother Nature can throw at them from golf ball sized hail to flying tree limbs.
>Kohler Global Power Group Generator. Standby generators are better for hurricane preparedness because unlike portable generators, they power up automatically when the power goes out, whether people are at home or not. And they provide power for several days and theres not gas or propane to worry about.
