iPhone- and Android-compatible app provides author bios, social media links, maps and schedules
The Brooklyn Book Festival and AT&T announced today the launch of a free iPhone and Android-compatible “app” that will provide Festival-goers and book lovers with everything from author biographies and their social media links to schedules, lineups, maps, directions and other information for the weeklong Brooklyn Book Festival. Users will also be able to use the app to vote for their AT&T Fan Fave, in which the winning authors will receive a cash prize to donate to their favorite charity.
Beginning today, Apple product users will be able to search for “Brooklyn Book Festival” in the App Store and download the app for their smartphones and tablets; Android customers can download from Google Play. On Sunday, September 23, a record 280+ top national and international authors and participants will join bibliophiles, booksellers and literary organizations on 14 stages at Brooklyn Borough Hall (209 Joralemon Street) and Plaza, Columbus Park, St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights Public Library, Brooklyn Law School, the Brooklyn Historical Society and St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church. A week of more than 50 “Bookend events” begins on Monday, September 17.
