SPC. Bryan Dilberian’s Now Recovering From 19th Surgery
And Plans to Attend Benefit Concert
As actor Gary Sinise from “CSI: NY,” (also known for his work as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump), announced his Lt. Dan Band benefit concert for April 27th at Brooklyn Center honoring Army SPC. Bryan Dilberian, Bryan was undergoing his 19thsurgery for infections and bone growth complications. Now, more than ever, Dilberian needs the community’s support to buying tickets to his benefit concert.
Bryan Dilberian says, “They can take my legs but they can’t take my pride.” He further states, “I’m determined and confident to move on enjoy life to its’ fullest.”
Dilberian was assigned to Dawg Company, 3rd Platoon weapons squad as a 240 Gunner and deployed in March of 2011 to Afghanistan. It was in the Arghanbab River Valley in Afghanistan on July 1, 2011 that Bryan, a gutsy Brooklyn boy, truly began the fight of his life. While on a routine patrol an IED Exploded and Bryan’s best friend PFC. Jimmy Waters was killed instantly. In that same moment, Bryan was also hit by shrapnel himself and was critically wounded. On the field, he was given first aid and within 4 days, journeyed to Kandahar, Germany and then home to the United States. Initially Bryan lost an enormous amount of blood, but miraculously, the fighter in him held on. Bryan lost both legs below the knee and his arm below the elbow.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation have partnered to host a Lt. Dan Band benefit concert at Brooklyn Center (Brooklyn College) where proceeds will go towards building SPC Bryan Dilberian, a triple amputee and Brooklyn native a “smart home.”

Brendan Marrocco on June 11, 2011 in Staten Island, NY; broke ground October 26, 2011 at the Lake of the Ozarks, MO for Cpl. Todd Nicely‘s smart home; broke ground on Feb. 14 in Temecula, CA for Cpl. Juan Dominguez‘s home; and this year will begin raising funds for a home in Ararat, VA for JB Kearns, in Brooklyn, NY for Spc. Dilberian, and others in Albany, NY, Columbia, MO, Atlanta, GA, Marietta, OH, and Whitehall, PA.
Frank Siller stated, “It is our duty, as a nation, to come together and give these brave individuals the independence they deserve. The least we can do is build them a ‘smart home’ where they can live more independent lives.”
