All Eyes of the Gulf. Celine Cousteau speaks to Good News at this fundraiser event at Mary and Peter Mass Gallery. The fundraiser is for, the World Animal Awareness Society of which Tom McPhee, is the executive director for a fundraiser for the all-important All Eyes on the Gulf Expedition. The Expedition is a substantial undertaking in which WA2S.org and partner organization Kinship Circle will have a continuous presence in the Gulf to document how the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill is affecting wildlife by producing compelling stories at the human-animal intersection.
The materials (graphic data, pictures, field reports, and videos) are being produced by a host of World Animal Awareness Society members and a joint Expedition partnership with Kinship Circle and are being shared with such organizations as NOAA, IBRRC, Tri-State Bird, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Ocean Revolution, EcoRigs.org, Audubon Nature Institute, Sea Turtle Restoration Project, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Sustainable Ecosystem Restoration. To see how the materials are being integrated into the Interactive Action Map, click here. This is the heart of the Expedition but by no means its only point of distribution.
Please (with a big fat cherry on top!) come out for the night to learn more. It promises to be a truly informative and inspiring evening, as well as filled with delicious food and refreshing drinks.
