By: Rochelle Zaltzman The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held a Taste of the World Fundraiser last night at Chelsea Market featuring super chefs Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse among other great chefs who donated their talents and time to raising funds for vital cystic fibrosis program services. Because of its visionary focus the foundation has brought top notch scientists from many disciplines, medical institutions and corporations together to set the agenda and direct the paths to developing new and potentially life-saving therapies. What a thrill it was for me to meet the great Super Chef Emeril Lagasse face to face last night at the fundraiser for cystic fibrosis at Chelsea Market. I have always been a major fan and try to catch most of his shows whenever possible. In addition to being a true culinary artist, he is also a wonderful showman. What has always fascinated me about his mannerisms was the way he always protectively bends towards and leans over the dish he is preparing, even when putting a sprig of garnish as a finishing touch. So, I asked him why he does that. “It’s a love thing”, he said. http://www.cff.org
