On Friday, November 12, 2010,Citymeals-on-Wheels held its 24th Annual “Power Lunch For Women” Benefit to raise funds to provide meals for New York’s homebound elderlyat the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
More than 350 women — leaders of industry, media, government, and the arts — let power go to their hearts at this sold out Citymeals-on-Wheels 24th annual Power Lunch for Women. This by-invitation-only benefit, emceed by Juju Chang, News Anchor, Good Morning America, was expected to raise enough money to provide more than 156,000 meals for New Yorks frail aged.At the conclusion of the event, a total of $1,143,922 was raised to support Citymeals-on-Wheels, enough to provide 178,000 meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers in need.
Honored for their long-standing commitment to Citymeals was Diana Taylor, Managing Director of Wolfensohn & Company, and actor Kathleen Turner.
The Lunch featured a silent auction and some of the items included Bobbi Browns Ultimate Makeup Lesson, a personal shopping experience at Saks Fifth Avenue including a $1,000 gift card and lunch for two, a Weekend stay for two at The Plaza Hotel in a Deluxe Rose Suite, two nights at The Pierre and dinner for four at the Le Caprice, one week at a Relais & Chateaux, in addition to a dinner for two with Gael Greene.
One hundred percent of the money raised from ticket sales at Power Lunch, and all Citymeals events, goes to the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to homebound elderly in the five boroughs of New York City.

Lauder, Sandra Lee, Cindi Leive, Maguy Maccario-Doyle, Susan Magrino, Norris Church Mailer, Fern Mallis, Carolyn B. A few adventurous men bought the privilege of lunching with these powerful and famous women for an admission price of $10,000. This years $10K men included Albert Behler, Jeffrey Chodorow, John Cochran, Joseph M. Cohen, Bill Fischer, Justin Green, Michael Lynne, John Orrico, Craig Pfeiffer, John Pomerantz, Dennis Riese, John Shapiro, William T. Speck, MD, Jonathan Tisch, Donald Tober, Jonathan Waxman, and Steven B. Zavagli.
The Grand Host of this years Power Lunch was The Pierre A Taj Hotel. The Associate Sponsors were Amherst Securities Group LLC, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Travelers. The Very Grand Patrons were Absolut Vodka, Bedell Cellars, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Citi, Nespresso North America, and Christian Dior, Inc. The Grand Patrons were Bernardaud, Bloomingdale’s, Devi, FloraliaDecorators, Korin, La Prairie, and Northern Trust. Official sponsors of Citymeals-on-Wheels were American Airlines and FIJI Water.
