2nd Annual
Festival Friday Gala June 15!
Dear Clearwater Community,
Inspired by Pete Seeger’s efforts to clean up the river over forty years ago, Clearwater’s annual music and environmental festival and fundraiser- the Great Hudson River Revival– initially helped raise the funds to build the sloop Clearwater, which has since become a world-renowned floating classroom and a symbol of effective grassroots action. This year, we’re celebrating a multitude of anniversaries- from Woody Guthrie’s 100th Anniversary to Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s 50th Anniversary to Walkabout Clearwater Chorus’ 25th Anniversary!
We invite you to support Clearwater and Revival by becoming a Patron Fish. Your support as a Patron Fish is one of the best ways to help us to continue our important work, giving you a wonderful weekend to remember forever! Here’s what one of our next generation of leaders has to say about Clearwater programs and why they are important:
“For young people who have something to say, whether that be in regard to the environment, politics or anything else, Clearwater is one of the only organizations that has made the space for them to speak their mind. While most organizations and most of society for that matter, say, “this is what you should think and do,” Clearwater behaves differently. The organization and its members encourage thinking and doing as actions valuable in their own right and unique to each individual. Sometimes all a young person needs to convince them to act is someone determined to listen to what they have to say.”
– Power of Song program participant, Ava Bynum
Please join with me and become a Patron Fish. Your gift is tax-deductible and will help cement Pete’s legacy by creating the next generation of environmental leaders!
Sincerely,
Jeff Rumpf,
Executive Director
