Details & Tickets
Named “sublimely gifted musician” by Time Out Magazine, classical/rock violinist Daisy Jopling teams up with award-winning director and visual maestro Daniel Flannery, iconic creator of legendary Olympic Ceremonies, World Stages, TV, Film, Expo & Theme Parks, and acclaimed writer and storyteller Sarah Bracey White in the production of Transcendence.
“There are so many facets that will be coming together culminating in a magical evening aimed at providing musical mentorship to the children of New York and Peekskill…Daisy Jopling’s foundation of mentoring children will continue to change lives through this performance!” says Executive Producer, Gene Fisch, Jr.
The music embraces traditional African songs, spirituals, blues, bebop, jazz, funk and hip hop, intermingled with favorites from the Daisy Jopling Band. Original music is composed by the Daisy Jopling Band, Dean Fransen and Angelo Chery and includes arrangements of Duke Ellington, Art Blakey, Billie Holliday, Papa John Creek, and George Walker.
Set to an original stage adaptation by Daniel Flannery of Sarah Bracey White’s “Primary Lessons”, we meet Sarah as a precocious five-year-old girl as she is pulled from her middle-class life in Philadelphia and planted in Jim Crow, South Carolina. We bear witness to Sarah’s struggle to survive and are uplifted by the depth and clarity of her fiery spirit, which sustains her and ultimately illuminates the trajectory of her adult life.
The visuals, lighting, sound, and stage design are created by the team behind Illuminance: a Musical Salute to the Magic of Bannerman Castle.

Produced by the Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation (DJMMF), the foundation’s community of internationally renowned artists come together to mentor over 50 young people in the fields of production management, composition, songwriting, violin, beatbox/body percussion, dance/choreography, lighting, set design and sound engineering. This experience is often described as life changing—unleashing young people’s creativity and instilling them with focus, confidence, and communication skills that serve them on stage, in school, and in their chosen careers.
DJMMF is a decade-old nonprofit that has touched nearly 10,000 children’s lives in the Hudson Valley through free world-class music mentorship programs, workshops and performances, partnering with over 50 schools and nonprofit organizations.
DJMMF’s Sustaining Members (Symphony of World Citizens), Sponsors, and Patrons with Teir I & Stage Tickets enjoy a VIP Meet & Greet Reception with the artists, along with vocals by NiNA Blue, and a gorgeous display by Italian Artist, Pasquale Monaco—all, while growing our impact on young people’s lives.
Student Testimonials
“Without Daisy, I wouldn’t be playing on this violin. I wouldn’t have been the longest-running concertmaster at my former high school without an instrument like this to motivate me to work harder and to practice, so her foundation has been a huge blessing. Daisy inspires me to be a better violinist, a better musician, and a better person.” — Angelo Chery
“Thank you again for the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Illuminance show! Having a one-on-one mentorship was an incredibly powerful learning experience. Mr. Giudice answered my questions and gave me an introduction to the audio engineering skills that I will use for the rest of my career! His class has helped set me up to be successful in the technology era, especially during the pandemic when every musician has to get used to recording in lieu of most live performances. I’m enjoying the recording process more than ever before!” — Josie Rose, Mentee in Sound Engineering Program, Illuminance
