Dr. Michael Roizen, Nationally Recognized Internist and Co-author of the award winning YOU Book Health Series
Background:
It?s no surprise that according to the CDC, approximately one in every six adults – 16.3% of the U.S. adult population, has high cholesterol, which puts them at twice the risk of heart disease.
Now help is on the way! To help people get on the right track. Dr. Roizen, co-founder of Real Age and regular guest on the Dr. Oz show, will discuss the five things every American needs to do to lower their cholesterol during American Heart Month.
His tips include:
– Say Yes to Fiber – Most Americans only get 10 to 15 grams of fiber per day through their normal diet.
– Wear a Pedometer and Increase Daily Activity – You?d be amazed to see how many extra steps you can take.
– Get an Exercise Buddy – Grab an exercise buddy and support each other in the challenge to lower your cholesterol.
– Beware of Hidden Fats and Sugars – Be an informed eater; get to know your ingredients and read the nutrition labels thoroughly.
