Steppin’ Out Live with Ben Vereen is a one man show with a unique blend of artistry and a tribute to the music of Broadway, along with musical selections made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. featuring hit songs like “Defying Gravity,” “My Way,” “Mr. Bojangles,” and “Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries”. Each performance is filled with song and dance, stories of his life, and Vereen’s signature sense of humor.
Ben has solidified his place among Broadway royalty, with starring roles in such Broadway productions as Wicked, Fosse, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Jelly’s Last Jam, Grind, A Christmas Carol, I’m Not Rappaport and of course PIPPIN for which he won the Tony Award. He starred in the new play Fetch Clay, Make Man at the McCarter Theatre, directed by Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) which will move to NY in 2013. On January 30th, 2012, Ben Vereen was inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame. Best known for his Emmy nominated role as Chicken George in Roots, as well as the feature film All That Jazz, select film and television credits include: How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and the Hallmark feature film Accidental Friendship for which he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Ben continues to tour the country with his show, Steppin’ Out with Ben Vereen. Last spring, he released his first CD, Steppin’ Out Live With Ben Vereen. Ben will perform for 100,000 people at the Washington Monument on July 4th, 2012. This summer, the Museum of Dance will honor Ben with a lifetime achievement award in August, 2012.
