Christine Alt in many ways is typical of today’s American Woman (whose average dress size is 12). A noted plus-size model, Christine struggled with weight issues early in her modeling career as she was faced with increasing pressure from clients and agencies to lose weight. She soon developed an eating disorder and withdrew from the fashion world, only to re-emerge as a plus-size model in the 1990s when she helped establish plus-size modeling as a credible and highly esteemed career. [Christine’s story was recently featured on Entertainment Tonight] Now as the new face and voice of Woman Within – a new online site (formerly The Lane Bryant Catalog) where real women can seek fashion advice and shop for plus-size clothing- she represents all the American women who are happy with who they are now, without feeling the need to change. Woman Within fashion is made to keep up with the latest trends but also accommodates the desire of the American women for the utmost comfort and fit. Christine, who is committed to helping women feel confident and strong brings her unique perspective to this on-line community of real women across the country, sharing her experience and giving comments and tips on fashion, beauty and lifestyle. With the Fashion Week showings just around the corner, Christine Alt shows us how real women can embrace their bodies (whatever their size and shape) and incorporate Fall Fashion Trends from the runways in their wardrobes.
