Float to Host Honored Teachers And Local Southern California Students To Shine A National Spotlight on Our Most Deserving Educators

WHAT: Farmers Insurance will ring in the New Year by honoring those who make us smarter with the “Thank a Million Teachers” float at the 2014 Tournament of Roses® Parade.
Middle school teacher Mike Agostinelli from Helena, Mont. and elementary school teacher Bridget Thompson from Dayton, Nev., alongside local Los Angeles students, will represent the nation’s dedicated teachers atop the float in front of over 52 million television viewers and another 900,000 people at the Rose Parade as the float glides down Colorado Boulevard.
The float celebrates the recently announced “Thank A Million Teachers” initiative, which invites America to make 2014 the year to thank a million teachers. As part of this countrywide effort, Farmers will also give a million dollars to support classrooms and education programs.
