The Bannerman’s Island tour boat, the Estuary Steward brings visitors to the Island from Newburgh’s waterfront and the Beacon Institute Dock at the Beacon Waterfront (directly across from the Beacon Railroad station) Reservations and tickets can be purchased through the Bannerman Castle website www.Bannermancastle.org. Proceeds from all of our events benefit the on-going restoration work on Bannerman’s Island – one of the most unique performance and dining venues in the Hudson Valley!

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc., in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, provides public tours of Bannerman’s Island from May – October. There is a Metro North Train Package for the 1 day getaways!
Tours consist of guided walks on the island’s beautiful trails – with access either by passenger tour boat or as part of a guided kayak excursion. Tours depart from Newburgh’s waterfront and from Beacon (by tour boat or kayak), Cold Spring (kayak) and from Cornwall-on-Hudson (kayak). Reservations are required for all tours. Comfortable walking shoes are suggested – there is a 72-step climb from the dock with rest stops along the way. ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASES ARE REQUIRED!
