May 30, 2008 Day 407 Garden Galley Wind SW 25 to 30, Course E, Speed 4 knots, Position 35*56s by 145*08w Inspite of the cold, salty, damp weather, the garden and the sprouts are doing fine. It’s interesting to note that though plants all ways grow on the stillness of earth, these plants are doing quite well being constantly moved. I eat big sprout salads twice a day and all was eat my lentils and beans sprouted and lightly cooked. I keep my meals, coffee snacks and nibbling very regular and this gives me the good nutritous fuel to keep on trucking. I’ll talk about some of my great menus soon. Being away from land for so long and having the living company of the plants is very comforting. They have taken over the galley inspite of the fact that I have given them very little water. I can’t go in the galley with out rubbing and touching them and having the ivy pluck the mitten cap off my head. On the sailing front.Gale becomes calm, waves roll the boat rail to rail. Winds from the NE smooth the waves and I heave to,sewing relentlessly. Cold south winds pic up in the morning and I reset the sails and run off down wind at a comfortable speed and a good course. I forgot to mention in the last up date Thanks to Henri Lloyd for the best English made foul weather gear. They were donated to us ten years ago and I’m still wearing them.
