HAPPY AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!
I PRAY THAT YOU ARE SAFE AND WELL DURING THESE TRYING TIMES.
“Reflect upon your present blessings—of which every man has many—not on your past (or current, CF) misfortunes, of which all men have some.”
—Charles Dickens
My Thanksgiving Gift for you. “Let There Be Peace on Earth” – singing with the St. Louis Symphony *
My heart goes out to you, my precious friends and fans. Words cannot describe the difficulties of living through these past several months. Here, in the heart of NYC, it has been in frightening turmoil for so many months, plus I caught COVID-19 last March. The symptoms were intense but, thankfully, not life threatening. I experienced ongoing fatigue and other symptoms for quite some time, but I’m very grateful that I’ve survived without affecting my breathing/lung capacity which could have ruined my ability to sing.
For those of you who lost loved ones, who couldn’t say goodbye to your mothers, your fathers, your aunts, your uncles, maybe, God forbid, your children, my heart is breaking for you.
Throughout the many difficulties of my life, including the loss of my only sibling at that time, my brother John, in a car accident when he was 21 and I was 18, the loss of the love of my life to a brain tumor, my mother’s polio condition, being homebound for years and me being the only caregiver, needing to evacuate her during Hurricane Sandy, plus the uphill battle of having a career in the entertainment field taught me to KEEP THE FAITH! I was in a severe BOOTCAMP of life for many years.
I’m sure a lot of you can relate to that, particularly during these biblically difficult times. My life was saved when I learned to lean on God. Specifically, in my case, Jesus Christ. I highly recommend turning to Him. You don’t need to make an appointment, you don’t need to check if your insurance a session or pay for medication. Just have a direct chat with Him.
I also always admire my dear friends that are good, kind and ethical human beings that do not share these same beliefs. I am grateful for you. And want to explain that I NEEDED to find spiritual peace in my life. I was going down a very dark road emotionally. And now I walk mostly always in perfect Peace. I NEEDED the spiritual healing and I NEEDED to learn to lean on God and “cast all my cares”, which have been many!
Please let me take this opportunity at this perfect time of year to tell you how grateful I am to have you all in my life. You are a blessing to me in more ways than you know. And I’m sure you are as thankful as I am to enjoy the blessings (which we many times take for granted) of living in our great country (which we are praying hard for it’s positive future) and of enjoying the fruits of the hard work of those who came before us.
I am grateful that I have enough to eat (too much even, LOL!) , a warm roof over my head, wonderful friends, family and neighbors and the ability and privilege of using the gift(s) that God has given me. And, in addition, this year to be alive and in perfect health. I want you to know how very important each and every one of you is to me – new friends/fans and the loyal ones that I have known through the years – through good and bad times – and mostly, thankfully – good times.
Enjoy and treasure this special time with the ones you love, even if it’s virtually – it will not always be this way. Remember fondly and with gratitude the love and friendship you have enjoyed, our dear ones that have passed on, and let’s all please remember to share with those who don’t have as much as you and I are blessed with, particularly during these hard times.
As my dear Mamma, Francesca, used to say – “This too shall pass.” Let’s enjoy what we can as we battle through. There is still so much to enjoy and be grateful for. God bless you always.
All my love, Cristina
