World Cares Center is getting into the holiday spirit and is supporting the Secret Sandy Claus Project. Alongside our partners, Sandy Beards and the Rockaway Free Flea Market, we are striving to make this difficult year as normal as possible for affected children. This program ensures that children displaced by Superstorm Sandy have a great holiday. With the help of disaster case management, we have signed up over of the neediest 1,000 children from all boroughs, and with your help World Cares Center is ready to give these kids a memorable holiday season.
World Cares Center and our volunteer elves will be converting our volunteer centers into Santa’s Workshop on December 20th in preparation for these events on December 21st, where we will be providing toys and refreshments to children at our three sites located in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
To ensure New York’s youth can have a great holiday, we need a hand. With a donation of just $25, you will be giving a toy to a child in need. For only $50 you will be providing one of our jolly volunteers a Santa or elf costume. A donation of $250 will provide “cookies and milk” for an entire site and if you would like to ensure all 1,000 kids get a snack, all it would take is a gift of $1,000.
