Sylvia have been singing since I could talk. When I was about three years old, I sang Paper Moon on station WEE in Miami. Sang on the operating table before they removed my tonsils. Currently, I am rehearing for a show at a local community center which will have performances in November. I am also in charge of the L.O.D.(Lakes of Delray) Melody singers. I was a soloist with The Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island which toured in several states as well as Brooklyn, I was on Concentration and got to sing a parody I wrote about the show. In my development, I am the spokesperson for the COP (Civilian Observer Patrol), Recording Secretary for The FunShine Club,I received a Lifetime Achievement Award Plaque in 2018 for efforts on behalf of LOD, Co-authored directed and performed in musical comedy shows. Some of the titles: Gunsmoke Gits in Yore Eyes, Flaw and Order, Circus Beserkus, The Happy? Anniversary, The LOD Boat. The Wizard of LOD. I love to make people laugh. I have been editor of in house news for Boy Scouts, my synagogue, Knights of pythiasI sold millinery and hats in Macy’s in the Bronx, sold Avon, worked as a theatre cashier, was a paraprofessional with learning disabled children until I went to college at 52 and got my bachelors degree in English and started teaching in a Junior High. at 60. For sixteen years, I entertained twice a week at Morse Life where my mom was a resident for seven years As part of the duo, Malkah and Shaneh, sang at ladies’ clubs, men’s clubs, Sisterhoods, PTA, hospitals, etc. I have been widowed twice, have three fabulous children from the first marriage. two accomplished step children from the second,* thirteen grandchildren, and four great grands. Because we moved a lot when I was growing up, I became very adaptable to whatever place or event was current .I have lived in six different states and many towns and cities from small to large. I will be ninety-three next month, good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise (southern expression), I am second generation American, unlike most people my age. My mom was born in Jacksonville, FL, my dad in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was Chief Den Mother in Cub Scouts, troop leader in Girl Scouts, President of the Hebrew school PTA, Israel bond honoree, Hadassah Mother of Israel, membership V.P. for Sisterhood. did the Dolls for Democracy for B’nai B’rith program. I am young at heart but the rest of me is older. Any questions?
