The New York Jets celebrated their 9th annual Jets Kickoff Luncheon today at Cipriani Wall Street, marking the 50th anniversary season of a proud Jets tradition of providing help to the community.
The New York Jets Foundation and the Alliance for Lupus Research are dedicated to promoting youth health, fitness and education and to fund research to develop a treatment and cure for Lupus. The Alliance provides substantial grants to promising, highly focused projects that are likely to result in breakthrough developments in this chronic and debilitating disease.
With new head coach Rex Ryan in place and the opening of the new stadium on the horizon, 2009 promises to be an exciting season. The NFL will highlight and honor the original eight American Football League teams. The Jets will play four of those franchises this season: The Boston Patriots, the Buffalo Bills, the Houston Oilers and the Oakland Raiders.
