Bring your boat and join the River Day Celebration Sail! Hudson heritage vessel sloop Clearwater will lead a flotilla departing from Poughkeepsie at 1pm on June 4, to arrive in Kingston around 5pm. Upon arriving in Kingston, Clearwater will be joined by Half Moon, and sail into the Rondout for a dockside celebration at theHudson River Maritime Museum. We hope you will join us for this spectacular River Day Celebration in Kingston as the flotilla arrives!
In 2009, the first River Day was held as part of the region-wide Quadricentennial celebrations. In 2010 several organizations from New York to Albany collaborated to make the event an annual tradition. River Day continues to grow as a community-based event.
Sponsored by theNYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program,the 2011 River Day focuses on the 5 themes of the 2010-2014 Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda: Clean Water, Habitat, River Access, Climate Change and Scenery. River Day is presented in cooperation with Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Hudson Valley Greenway, Riverkeeper, Scenic Hudson, Hudson River Boat and Yacht Club, Hudson River Maritime Museum and others.
