Newburgh’s Nora Cronin Presentation Academy announces that at a meeting of the NCPA Board of Trustees on Wednesday, December 13 2017, Ms. Jonnie Wesley-Krueger of Pine Bush, NY was elected by unanimous vote to be the new President of the NCPA Board of Trustees.
Ms. Wesley-Krueger stated “I am honored to help lead this important organization. Nora Cronin Presentation Academy makes a lasting difference in the lives of the girls that it educates, and I cannot think of a more effective way to create change for the betterment of all.”
Ms. Wesley-Krueger is a life-long advocate for women and girls having served in various organizations throughout Orange County.
Outgoing Board President Joanne O’Brien, stated that “it has been both my pleasure and honor to serve NCPA. I know that Jonnie will do an excellent job moving NCPA forward. And I, of course, will be there to assist in every way possible.”
NCPA School Principal, Sister Yliana Hernandez, stated “the school and the students have been well served by Joanne and the Board, and we so look forward to working with our new board president. We also want to welcome Sister Connie Kelly, as our newest member of the Board.”
Ms. Wesley-Krueger is a recipient of the Orange County Woman of Achievement in Healthcare Award, and the Mental Health Association Silver Bell Award. She most recently worked as Engagement officer with the Bon Secours Charity Health System in Suffern, NY and served as Allocations/Board Chair of the United Way of Orange County, as well as Co-Chair of the Orange County Women’s Leadership Fund, and as Co- Chair of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.
Celebrating eleven years of educational excellence and success, Nora Cronin Presentation Academy (NCPA) provides a free education for sixty (60) fifth-through-eighth grade girls whose families live in poverty in the City of Newburgh and the Hudson Valley.
NCPA educates girls to become tomorrow’s leaders, and truly believes that education provides a pathway out of poverty. Providing emotional as well as academic support, from NCPA’s first academic class in 2006, 100% of our students have graduated high school and have gone on to college, vocational school or the military.
In delivering a message to current students, Arianna Rescinos, NCPA Class of 2014, and John S.
