Jack Johnson, Daryl Hall & John Oates, and Yo Gabba Gabba are among the big names confirmed for the Sept. 21-22 Life Is Good Festival, a family-friendly event which raises funds for a good cause.
Organizers expect to draw more than 30,000 “fundraisers” to the show at Prowse Farm in Canton, Mass, with a goal to raise more than $1 million for children?s charity the Life is Good Kids Foundation.
Superfly Presents, the producers of the Bonnaroo and Outside Lands fests, have again partnered on this year?s two-day event, which will host three stages, arts activities and kids? areas. Other artists lined-up on the bill include the Roots, Amos Lee, Dawes and Trampled by Turtles.
The core aim of the fest, organizers note, is to create a community of fundraisers. Ticket-buyers are directed to a personal fundraising page, where they can raise sums for the foundation. Each festival-goer who raises at least $500 are dubbed VGPs ? Very Good People; and they?re rewarded with backstage hospitality, preferred viewing vantage points, meet-and-greets with the artists and other incentives.
“Every music festival has its own feel,” comments Johnson in a statement issued today. “All my friends that have played at the Life is Good Festival have told me that the energy that the crowd brings is like nowhere else. I can?t wait to finally experience It myself.”
Tickets can be bought at lifeisgood.com/festival and are priced at $65 for a single-day adult ticket or $120 for a two-day pass. Kid?s tickets are priced at $20 or $35, respectively, and children under-two are free. Monies raised will benefit the Life is Good Playmakers, the action arm of the Life is Good kids foundation.
The organization supports programs that bring healing through music, activities and play for children facing life-threatening challenges.
