Survey that Reveals How Recent Economic Stress Has Made Families Closer While the economic crisis continues to
burden households throughout the United States, an interesting new survey reveals that although four of every five parents who state
that the economy has increased their family’s stress and anxiety, it has also made their family closer.
63-percent of parents say that as the economic recession has progressed, they have learned to enjoy the simple
aspects of life; and 61-percent of them say that they have come to realize that family is more important than money.
64-percent of parents have stated that they are now spending more time at home as family. 81-percent of them say
that they show more physical affection to their own children than their parents did with them At the center of
family closeness is touch: Almost half of parents (45-percent) say that the number one thing that contributes to
their family’s sense of closeness is showing physical affection. And who better to advocate for this trend of family
closeness than actor and father of three children with wife Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos.

Actor Mark Consuelos is most famous for his role as Mateo Santos on the popular soap opera “All My Children” on
which he met his future on and off-screen wife, actress Kelly Ripa, on the set. In addition to having starred on the
hit television series “Missing,” Mark has guest-starred on “Ugly Betty,” “Hope & Faith,” “Friends,” “Third Watch,”
“American Family,”
“Fortune Hunter,” and “SeaQuest,” “Beautiful Girl;” hosted the reality series “Age of Love;” and been featured
numerous times as part of the “Fridays Live” panel on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
In addition to starring in numerous off-Broadway productions, Mark has also graced the silver screen in such feature
films as “Wedding Daze” opposite Isla Fisher and Jason Biggs, “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” opposite Uma Thurman and Luke
Wilson, and Miramax’s WWII action movie “The Great Raid.”
Mark Consuelos will next be seen on the Lifetime Movie Network in the films “Killer Hair” and “Hostile Makeover”
based off the Crime of Fashion Mystery book series by Ellen Byerrum.
Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Mark was raised in Lebanon, Illinois and Tampa, Florida. He attended Bloomingdale High
School in Illinois and Notre Dame University before receiving a degree in marketing in 1994 from the University of
Florida.
Mark resides in New York City with his wife Kelly and their children Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.
