On Wednesday, March 17, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz presented congratulatory certificates to brothers Matthew and William Rosa, students at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School in Park Slope who donated $170 they had saved in their piggy banks to Haitian earthquake relief. In all, students raised more than $1,000. Joining the presentation were the boys’ grandmother, Maire O’Connell, Principal Sister Kathleen Sullivan and Haitian student Carl-Joseph Auguste.
