What Do I Have To Say About Dressing Sexy After Fifty
1. How did this book come about?
It was at the suggestion of my husband. We were going out to dinner, walking to one of our favorite local restaurants. He was just remarking about how pretty I looked when a big gust of wind (Portland, you know) blew my skirt up, panties and all exposed. Very Marilyn Monroe. We laughed and he said you should write a book about dressing sexy, I laughed and said, Yes dressing sexy after fifty, what a joke, but from that suggestion grew the idea for this book. So, it was suggested by a man, but the book is for women and about women being sexy for ones self first and foremost. It doesnt matter if you have a man in your life, or even want one in your life. Its something you do for yourself . . . there is the theory from Field of Dreams—build it and he will come. That could be a very nice by product sure, but my contention is that you do this for yourself.
2. Do you feel everyone needs to dress sexy?
I feel we are all sexual beings and to ignore that aspect of ones self is to limit the human experience. Sensuality is key to everyday living. It gives richness to the everyday fabric of our lives.
3. But isnt it time consuming to spend so much time dressing?
No not at all. It takes just about the same amount of time to dress like a schlump as it does to dress sexy. It starts with building your closet, by that I mean your basic pieces and gradually adding onto your basic wardrobe with the bonus pieces. It just takes knowing who you are, what you want to project, what your body type is and then what looks good for your body type what colors are good on you.
