Cotton candy. Popcorn. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Foosball. For the little kid in me and for many other adults (kids) around, life was just grand. Week 2 at the 2008 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge was Kids Day and what a Kids’ Day it was. The glorious weather cooperated at a happening VIP Polo tent and Polo Challenge.
The Bridgehampton Polo Club and Collections by Stride Rite hosted the first Kids Day at the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. And there were many happy campers. For the young at heart, the delectable treats, mini cupcakes, games, balloon making, and facepainting was a fun change from an otherwise “adult” VIP Polo tent.
The Collections by Stride Rite store is located at 1542 Third Avenue at 87th Street on New York’s Upper East Side and redefines children’s shoe shopping with special environments well-suited for babies, toddlers and younger kids. Space Odyssey USA Family Entertainment Center provided the games and activities for young attendees.
This week, Team Pony Express battled Team Black Watch with a final 15 to 8 Black Watch victory. Champagne Perrier-Jouet accompanied the games and treats as an unusually large number of VIPers watched the match since last week’s Polo Challenge.
The season commenced on Saturday, July 19, and will continue for six consecutive Saturdays, ending August 23. The Polo Challenge is from 4pm to 6pm. Teams that will compete this season include: White Birch; Black Watch; Pony Express; Equuleus; Jumeirah Culu Culu and Mansour. All proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge will go to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The VIP tent will host an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. General admission is available, and the location of Blue Star Jets Field Bridgehampton Polo Club is at 849 Hayground Road, Bridgehampton, NY 11932.
