After two weeks of rain outs and polo without polo, Week 5 of the Bridgehampton Polo Challenge resumed. And happy polo fans came out in droves.
The gorgeous weather cooperated at a happening VIP polo tent and Challenge. Perrier Jouet presented a savory tasting with James Beard Award Nominee and Godfather of Nuevo Latino Cuisine Chef Doug Rodriguez. Founded in 1811, by Nicolas Perrier and Adle Jout in the year following their marriage,

Chef Douglas Rodriguez, the King of Ceviche and famed Polo player Nacho Figueras have come together for the first time to create Nuela, Manhattan’s preeminent Latin American restaurant opening in the Flatiron District this fall.
On Saturday, August 16, Chef Douglas Rodriguez and Nacho Figueras introduced VIP guests of Bridgehampton Polo to Nuela with a preview of signature menu items and a chance to meet the Nuela team. Special guests included Nuela’s powerhouse design team of fashion designer Angel Sanchez and interior designer Christopher Coleman. Polo Team Equuleus triumphed with a 11 to 8 win.
Season partners included: Ralph Lauren, Piaget; St. Regis; Catherine M. Zadeh Fine Jewelry; Champagne Perrier-Jout and Stolichnaya Vodka; Capricho Residences at Playa Mujeres; FIJI Water; Tag Heuer Eyewear and Gruen Eyes; T-Mobile Sidekick; Coca-Cola; Hpnotiq; Peroni Beer; and Zino Platinum Cigars.
The season commenced on Saturday, July 19, and will continue for six consecutive Saturdays ending August 23. The Polo Challenge is from 4pm to 6pm. Teams that will compete this season include: White Birch; Black Watch; Pony Express; Equuleus; Jumeirah Culu Culu; and Mansour.
All proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge will go to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The VIP tent hosts an invitation only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. Catering will be provided by RCano Catering.
