Montauk Playhouse Fall e-Newsletter

Due to the efforts and support of so many – including you – 2013 has been a banner year so far for the MPCCF. Our events have been plentiful (see below) and the support generous. The community came out in force to support the Foundation, and had a lot of fun – we hope – in the process.  Local children even got in on the fundraising action this year – their sales of Rainbow Loom Bracelets raised almost $400 for the MPCCF.

Now that the temperatures have cooled and the crowds around town have diminished, we’d like to take a moment to extend our special thanks to you, and everyone involved – from our many sponsors and donors to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and everyone behind the scenes – we couldn’t have done it without you!

We hope that you enjoy the quieter months in Montauk and that you’ll join us at our Veteran’s Day Flag Ceremony this Monday, November 11th and that you’ll take a chance to win big with our 50/50 Raffle. And, If you haven’t already, please take a moment to take our Community Survey.

We are excited as we look toward the future and the realized dream of a completed Playhouse. We welcome your continued in helping to reach our goal!

Please call (631) 668-1124 or emailadmin@montaukplayhouse.org to purchase.     VETERAN’S DAY FLAG CEREMONY Monday, November 11, 10am  at the Suzanne Koch Gosman Flagpole Garden at the Montauk Playhouse  Local Scout groups, Veterans, and community members will join together in honoring our war heroes as we raise the American Flag. Coffee and treats will be served in the Senior Nutrition Dining Room immediately following the ceremony.     All are invited to attend.     2013 FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES April – our first NYC event at Toby’s Public House June – the summer season kick-off Italian Night party at Solé East July and August – our popular FamilyFest summer programming series July – the Montauk Ocean Swim Challenge August – our sold-out “Diamond in the Rough” Gala June and August – the Willie Nelson and Patti Smith concerts at the Surf Lodge October – our Annual Chinese Auction during Montauk’s Fall Festival December – our 50/50 Raffle. (MPCCF) was born, and an organized effort to save the historic Montauk Playhouse and create a vibrant home for arts, education, athletics and much needed community and human services began. Thanks to the efforts of the entire community, the Montauk Playhouse has now been beautifully restored, and facilities and services within half of the structure have been up and running since spring ’06. Visit the Playhouse any day and you will find a child day care center, a senior nutrition center, an adult day care center, a high-school regulation-sized gymnasium, a fitness center and a physical therapy practice. And that’s not all – plans are currently underway for an Aquatic Center with lap and recreation pools, a theater, and multi-use Community rooms and lounges.
