The NYC Rockin’ the River Cruises continues tomorrow night with Donna The Buffalo (Thursday) and a double bill of Almost Queen & The Unforgettable Fire (Friday). Next week The Smithereens perform on August 10. We just announced Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers, on August 15th. Each RTR Cruise is a 2 hour concert cruise that sails past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge. We depart from The Circle Line at Pier 83, West 42nd Street at 12th Avenue in NYC. Almost Queen & The Unforgettable Fire Almost Queen succeeds in blending the vocal layering and studio precision that is a signature of the band with the energy and spectacle of a live stage production. Lead singer Joseph Russo, is also a veteran of the Broadway stage, and has performed in several Broadway tours throughout the world. Unforgettable Fire, or “UF”, was born on New Years Day in 1995 as one of the very first U2 tribute bands to ever perform in America. UF has formed a reputation among many to be one of the closest experiences to being at an actual live U2 show. Steve Earle & The Dukes Singer/songwriter/actor/author Steve Earle is a master composer and storyteller, his songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. His 1986 debut record, Guitar Town, shot to number one on the country charts and immediately established the term “New Country,” and was followed by an extremely exciting and varied array of releases including I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive (2011), also the title of his 2011 debut novel.
