Company Overview
The Parrots for Peace are a family of blue and gold macaw parrots sharing their vision of Universal Harmony between all sentient beings interconnected with Mother Earth, and the vast realms of dimensions and multiverses. Parrots have long been known to speak to people in our own language have an impact on young eople of every age for their beauty and vocalization ability. The Parrots for Peace (Peace Parrots) promote their quest to Save the Humans with their motto: “May there be Peace between All People, Animals and Nature on our one shared mother: Earth”. These macaw parrots participate in events to promote ecological awareness – including speaking at United Nations NGO-sponsored events for such programs as World Water Day, the International Day of Peace, Universal Human Rights Bill commemoration (with a call to action to extend these rights to all of life), and programs such as Vigil for International Peace & Ecology, Water Not Weapons, We The World, Ecofest NYC, Earth Society, 350.org, World Peace Prayer Society, Universal Peace Day, Woodstock Walk for World Peace, LivePeace, International, The Hudson River Clearwater organization, the Peace Fair at Brooklyn Peace, as the Culture of Peace initiatives, The Smile Revolution, Alliance for a New Humanity, as well as indigenous peoples’ Pow-Wows, The Peace Corner at Wappingers Falls, NY, and special programs at schools, libraries, hospitals and rehabilitation centers. They appear in the tri-state NYC, Long Island, Hudson Valley, Catskill Mountain, NJ, MA, CT, and Washington, D.C. They have appeared on Goodnews Broadcast and are members of The Beacon Sloop Club.
Description
The educational programs, put on by the Parrots for Peace and Gloria Waslyn, their steward, leave an indelible memory of fun through a first-hand experience meeting and engaging with the avian missionaries for Peace, Sustainability, Green issues, Recycling, Alternative Energy, Compassionate Communications and respect for all life forms.
General Information
The Parrots for Peace are also known as The Rainforest Ambassadors, The Spokesavians for Nature and Wildlife and as The Nuclear Family for New Energy. The family of Peace Parrots meet many hundreds of people annually for programs on creating peace from the inside out, sharing ideas regarding sustainability practices and in creating a Culture of Peace to respect life fundamentally.
Board of Directors
Dr. Kathleen Nolan
Kathleen Nolan is Regional Director for the High Peaks at the office
of Catskill Mountainkeeper in Woodstock, New York. Dr. Nolan was born
in Kansas and raised in a rural area of middle Tennessee. She majored
in philosophy and theology at Saint Louis University and graduated
with honors, going on to pursue her Medical Degree, along with a
Masters of Studies in Law, from Yale. Following a residency in
pediatrics and fellowship training in clinical research design, she
worked at the Hastings Center, writing and teaching on diverse topics
in bioethics. She came to the Catskills in 1989 to pursue residential
training at a Zen Buddhist monastery and in 2003 she became Executive
Director of Tibet Aid in Woodstock. In 2009 she founded Catskills
Live! Trails and Wilderness Association. Dr. Nolan serves on the
Ulster County Tourism Advisory Board, the Ulster County Trails
Advisory Committee, and as an officer for the Catskill Heritage
Alliance and the Ashokan-Pepacton Watershed Chapter of Trout
Unlimited. Dr. Nolan lives near the stream in Shandaken, where she can
watch eagles ride currents up the mountains.
Tom McManus, Esq.
Tom McManus is an experienced business and market strategy consultant and attorney dedicated to helping organizations achieve market excellence through alignment with corporate social responsibility and opportunity. He is a specialist in business ethics.
Tom is a full time Assistant Professor at the City University of New York where he teaches business and business law classes at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, NY.
He has also taught business ethics in MBA and Executive MBA programs at Hofstra University; and management, business law, and business ethics at the Parsons School For Design.
Before starting his consulting business, Tom was a Director and Engagement Manager with Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory firm where he specialized in market and business strategy.
He is a long-time research affiliate of the Harvard Program on Information Resources Policy whose purpose is to help policymakers in business and government address problems and opportunities brought on by changes in communications and information resources.
He began his career with Bell Regional Ameritech where he was a planning manager responsible for identification and development of opportunities in online services and new media.
Tom began his professional life as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice where his focus was Political Asylum.
He is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey.
He earned a BA in History from Boston College, and a JD from The Vermont Law School.
