Two years ago I was being rushed to the hospital by my frightened wife. I thought I might be a heart beat away from a heart attack or death. Everything out of the car window was moving in slow motion. My eyes kept noticing all the beautiful flowers.
An hour before, the entire left side of my face completely stopped working. I was slurring. No longer able to blink. I figured I’d suffered a stroke. A heart attack seemed like it could be next. And there I was waiting for my wife to speed home and rush me to the emergency room.
You know what I did during the wait? I wrote. Figuring it might be my last opportunity to reflect on life. This is what came out:
“The greatest thing about life is the love you give and receive. The moments when you loved someone so well they smiled a deep and peaceful joy. The moments when someone loved you so well you felt seen and magnificent. The greatest thing about life is the surprises. The greatest thing about life is that it actually The greatest thing about life is the laughs. The great thing about life is the miracles. The greatest thing about life is children. The greatest thing about life is making love. The greatest thing about life is creativity. The greatest thing about life is dedicating yourself How much time does each of us have left Love, P” |
My life has meant a whole lot more to me since that day. (Turns out I had a temporary condition called Bells Palsy that left my face paralyzed for six months).
That day increased my deep and authentic desire to truly serve people into their best lives and grandest possibilities.
P.S. That’s one of the behind the scenes reasons I’m doing a webinar on what I call YOUR MIGHT tomorrow, Wednesday. Here’s how to register at no cost for one of the 97 on-line seats. I’d love to see you there. www.goodthink.com
