April 13, 2015, NYC – On Thursday, April 23th from 6:30- 10:30pm Planet Heart, a project of We, the World, will present its 9th Annual World Peace Earth Day Celebration and Benefit. For 9 years and Divinely guided, this has been one of NYC’s largest growing grassroots spiritual commUNITY gatherings honoring Mother Earth with indigenous ceremonies, panel discussion, meditation, community participation. Program starts at 7pm sharp, with a special family pre-show performance with Jason Trachtenburg (creator of Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players seen on Conan O’Brian, TED, and off-broadway). This is a community gathering open to the public for people interested in making a difference in the world and also is a benefit for We, the World and Planet Heart to help support their mission of helping the planet. The admission and donations are tax-deductible.
This years’ festivities is highlighted with an Indigenous Opening Ceremony featuring a Mohawk Water Song and drumming, and a lively keynote panel discussion “Co-creating 6-S (Six-Ess = Success) with Mother Earth” (Sacredness, Serenity, Service, Spirituality, Survival and Sustainability) with 7 diverse experts moderated by the notable Alan Steinfeld, host of New Realities TV. His co-host is Conscious Pop Recording Artist iMov. Featured panelists include Rick Ulfik, award-winning composer-pianist, founder of We, the World and the WE Campaign; David Young (Grammy-nominated musician, Author, Master Storyteller), Brother NorthStar (Medicine Walker, Children of the Sun For One People, One Earth), Andrew Faust (one of the premiere permaculture teachers and designers in North America, Center for BioRegional Living), Grandmother Barbara Three-Crow (Tunka Hota Wiyan-Gray Stone Woman), Grandmother Shirley Barclay, Nicole Shore (Sustainability Teacher, Zero To Sixty Communications); Plus: Grandmother Lygia M. De Castro’s “One with the Universe” Message and Community “Call to Action” inter-actions with both her and Jane Gignoux; Performers include David Young, iMov and da Peezkeepahz; critically acclaimed artist Laurelle Eden; and vocalist songpoetLisa Roma aka Electrik Goddess Orquestra. The final portion of the evening will be with a participatory final closing circle prayer and water ceremony with special guests. Throughout the entire evening, community participation and connection will be made. Planet Heart and the Annual World Peace Earth Day Celebration, founded by Andrew Kaen, who is also the Executive Producer, is a project of We, the World, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It has been providing New York City with entertaining and conscious Earth Day events since 2007. With the intention of encouraging CONSCIOUS AWARENESS of world peace as well as sustainability and caring for our planet for all humans and living beings of and including Mother Earth, in the footsteps of John McConnell, US Senator Gaylord Nelson, conservationist essayist John Muir, and the First Peoples of the Earth, with the countless millions of people around the globe who voice and act their concern and dedication for our planet’s protection on an ongoing basis. This year is the 45th anniversary of Earth day. But as we believe, Every Day is Earth Day. May Peace Prevail on Earth.
