I’ve long made a habit of photographing lost pet posters when I’m on my rounds throughout NYC. Social media gives me a new and more effective way to share them so that we can reunite these terrified animals with their families. Dear Friends,
It’s been a tough couple of months for many pets in NYC, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. My colleagues and I have been volunteering with the pets who have been displaced along with their families or all alone. That’s why this year’s beneficiary of my annual Pet-Rox benefit concert is the Lucky Diamond Critical Care Ward at the Humane Society of New York.
Music is my passion — along with animals — and Pet-Rox is my tribute to our best friends. Many of the songs are my original animal-themed compositions, but we’ll be singing some pet-centric holiday favorites as well.
Joining us this year is the acclaimed lifestyle expert Wendy Diamond, and her BFFs the Pups. My friend Maria Milito of Q104 and NY1 will emcee. As usual Pet-Rox features Leslie and Jackie (the Roxettes) and crack studio and touring musicians.
I hope you will be able to join us on December 13 at 9:30 pm at the Metropolitan Room. Tickets are only $20 with a two drink minimum.
