We cling to one moment and turn away from the next, wanting to hold onto what we consider desirable.
Our wish is to keep things the same, feel stable ,as if we know what is coming and how to handle it. But life itself is nothing but change, including our very body.
When we fight against this powerful truth, not only does it cause suffering, but we fail to realize that nothing lasts long, including hard moments.
And we lose the precious joy of discovering new moments, again and again.
Become each moment fully, and life will be a fantastic dance.
Each week I’ll take a new look at daily issues and problems we encounter.
When looked at from the Zen point of view, problems turn into Koans.
Not only do we then find unexpected solutions and guidance, but we
become able to enjoy whatever arises in our lives.
This approach puts an end to struggle, conflict and frustration on the
spot. As life turns into a koan, it turns into a form of play.

THIS MOMENT WILL NOT COME AGAIN
Brenda Shoshanna The Incredible Dance of Change
We cling to one moment and turn away from the next, wanting to hold onto what we consider desirable. Our wish is to keep things the same, feel stable ,as if we know what is coming and how to handle it.
But who is willing to swim in the sea of change? Who is willing to allow each moment to be what it is?
Each moment comes and goes in its own time, anyway, whether we want it to or not. Life itself is nothing but change, including our very body, whether or not we want things to stay the same.
When we fight against this powerful truth, it causes suffering, resentment and a sense of helplessness. It’s all unnecessary. We are simply trying to keep everything the same while life moves and changes as it must.
Refusing change, we live in a sea of frustration instead of the great pleasure of becoming each changing moment.
Change need not be terrifying when we jump into it fully and realize that nothing lasts long. Pain doesn’t last long either, especially when we don’t hold onto it.
And we discover an unexpected joy in seeing new moments, constantly arising, filled with endless surprises and delight.
LIfe is nothing but a dance of change, and we stand on the sidelines, refusing the music.
What change in your life are you struggling with? Can you accept it with wide open arms? Would you be willing to fully be it, explore it, and dance with it?
When we see each moment as just a flash in the sky, coming and going, not only do we discover new aspects of our experience, but realize our part in the dance, and where the music comes from.
