The 2012-13 sports season at Quinnipiac has truly been historic. I could not be more proud of our student-athletes whose hard work has brought national prominence to our alma mater. Some of the highlights include:
– Women’s basketball earned its first NCAA tournament berth in program history, joining Baylor, Notre Dame, Stanford and Duke with 30 or more wins this year.
– Men’s ice hockey, nationally ranked No. 1 for eight consecutive weeks, captured their first ECAC Hockey Regular Season Championship, earned their first visit to the Frozen Four and closed out the season as the National Runner-up.
– Goalie Eric Hartzell drew national praise as one of three finalists for the 2013 Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
– Women’s rugby has advanced to the National Semifinals in the 2013 Emirates Airline USA Rugby Women’s Collegiate playoffs.
We should be filled with Quinnipiac pride, as the Bobcats have reached extraordinary heights this season. Now you can show your Quinnipiac pride–by participating in the Alumni Scholarship Challenge.
If you haven’t already done so, make your gift to the Alumni Endowed Scholarship at www.quinnipiac.edu/challenge and help provide crucial scholarship aid to talented and deserving Quinnipiac students. For a limited time, Quinnipiac will match every dollar you give to the Alumni Endowed Scholarship, up to $500,000. This doubles the impact of your gift.
Thank you, and go Bobcats!
