Hurricanes….Fires…Tornadoes…..Swine Flu
What are your company & your child’s school doing to be prepared?
The American RED CROSS releases a First-of its kind
Ready Raring Program for schools and businesses
Did You Know?
A recent Red Cross survey found only 12% of Americans are prepared for a disaster.
1 in 4 businesses forced to close after a disaster never reopen.
What would happen if that emergency hit where you work or your child’s school? What plans are in place to help assure people are cared for and safe?
Schools and businesses can face any number of emergencies that threaten to disrupt their operations, ranging from natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods and wildfires to the possible widespread H1N1 flu virus that looms this fall and winter.
The Red Cross has developed the Ready Rating program offering free memberships to businesses and schools, which includes an online checklist to measure their current preparedness efforts to help implement an emergency response plan. Ready Rating first began as a project of the American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis, where it now has nearly 150 members, including major businesses, schools and organizations of all sizes. Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. was the founding sponsor of the program with a 2 million dollar grant and the first company to implement it.
Join Joe White, American Red Cross Senior Vice President and Anheuser Busch’s Laura Reeves to explain the Ready Rating program, how companies and schools can easily take the Ready Rating Challenge and develop a plan and why it makes good business sense to invest in a preparedness program.

According to a survey, one out of every four businesses forced to close in a disaster, never re-opens. Schools and businesses can face any number of emergencies putting hundreds, if not thousands, of employees and students at risk. Emergencies from hurricanes, earthquakes, and fires, to the H1N1 flu virus can disrupt operations on the job and at school.
Because of these threats, the Red Cross is releasing its new Ready Rating Program to help these places where millions congregate everyday prepare an emergency response plan.
Joining us live from St. Louis to explain how local businesses and schools can get involved is Joe White with the American Red Cross and Laura Reeves with Anheuser Busch the first company to sign on and support this program.
