According to a report in the newspaper Yediot Yerushalayim, Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center has become the hospital of choice for more local residents in need of emergency care than any of the city’s other three hospitals. In a growth trend that begun with the opening of the Weinstock Department of Emergency Medicine at Shaare Zedek in the Fall of 2004, Shaare Zedek has experienced a twelve percent annual increase in the number of patients admitted to the Emergency Department.
